FROM ANCIENT ROOTS TO MODERN TRIUMPH: CELEBRATING SIX DECADES OF RUBESCO

Torgiano's history is linked to wine. A new era began in the early 1960s with careful grape selection, new vine cultivation methods, and grape processing. Giorgio Lungarotti crafted a wine called Rubesco, which means "to blush" in Latin. Umbria's wine history is renewed, and one of Italy's first DOC regions is approved. The Riserva from the Monticchio Vineyard is introduced in 1964, winning acclaim and gaining Torgiano the DOCG years later.
