Vigna Monticchio Rubesco Riserva 2016 is a Torgiano Rosso Riserva DOCG from Lungarotti, made from Sangiovese grown in the Monticchio vineyard in Umbria. It is a structured red wine with depth, balance and good ageing potential.

The 2016 vintage offers notes of sour cherry, blackberry, violet, light menthol and spice. The palate is concentrated but controlled, with soft tannins and a long finish. Serve it with roast meats, game, mature cheeses or rich pasta dishes.

This vintage received major recognition in Italy: in 2021, Gentleman magazine ranked Rubesco Riserva Vigna Monticchio 2016 as best Italian red wine, tied with Bolgheri Sassicaia 2017.
